BIO:Anna Dale

“I am passionate about being a soul in a body. After a severe back injury rowing in college at age 18, my life was never the same. Pain became my constant companion, and I embarked upon a quest to maintain a sense of joy, fun, function and purpose in my life. Pain woke me up and led me on a path of self-discovery and deep learning. Yoga, dance, personal growth workshops… I was on a mission! And thought I was ‘managing’ my pain pretty well. Then a car accident re-injured the same place in my spine! Ten years after the initial injury, I was back to square one, and even worse. I was in more pain and had less function & mobility than the first time around. Again, my life would never be the same. I dug deep in an all-or-nothing-moment and prayed: “Help me figure out how to heal and be happy in my life, or help me to leave.” It was the lowest point I have known. But what ensued has been truly magical. I was blessed to work with some extraordinary healers and re-discover what a joy it is to be in a body. I learned to connect to my authentic expression, intuition, and power. I have experienced healing and integration on many levels, and I can honestly say that I am grateful to be alive. Along this road back to my true nature, I became a licensed massage therapist, dipped into the world of shamanism, and LOVE to DJ and facilitate ecstatic dance and conscious movement events here in Portland. I am so excited to share my gifts and help you on your path toward health and joy.”  Anna Dale

woman butterflyMay’s Topic: Dreaming up the “Other” – Inner tools to help us on our quest for romantic love.

Guest Speaker: Vanessa Couto

Our quest for love isn’t just about romance – it’s also our soul making journey. Our experiences, fantasies and dreams about romantic love have a lot more to do with us, than the partners we are meeting ‘out there’ in the world.
There many tools to help us gain some fresh perspective on this quest. Some of the tools readily available to us are our dreams, our favorite fairy tales, stories, movies and our astrological chart. Tonight we will explore how the relationship with our Inner Other can help us find the Romantic Other in our lives.
This talk isn’t just for those who are searching for a romantic partner, but also for those who already are in a relationship, but want to (re)establish a better connection with their Inner Other as well. Come prepared to share what is your favorite fairy tale/myth or book/movie character.

Vanessa CoutoBio: Vanessa Couto is an artist and counseling astrologer. She works with individuals who want a better understanding of who they are and what they came here to do.

All her life, she has felt like she was on the threshold. As a foreigner, she was always on the border, neither here, nor there, and yet everywhere. But because of that, she has developed an independent view of the world in front of her, often seeing what is unacknowledged or missed.

Vanessa first came to the United States from Brazil when she was 10 years old. Since then, she has always felt between two worlds, two cultures, two languages. Nevertheless, she soon found out… living on the threshold has its advantages.

As a child, she asked everyone she met, “What’ your astrological sign?” It’s mesmerizing how the astrological symbology, which at first seems like a foreign language, can say so much about a person.  As she progressed in her knowledge of astrology, she was drawn to explore psychology as it deepened her understanding of the human soul.  This led to a M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Creating Astro Charts was a way for her to embody the beauty and language of astrology in a physical and tangible way.  Her drawings became an artistic translation for the symbolic language of astrology, which can be mysterious… just like being a foreigner.

In her work, she is committed to helping others connect with what motivates them and to cross their own thresholds in life. She has found that the combination of art, psychology, and astrological translation delivers unprecedented insight…and also a visual delight.

What motivates her? Vanessa’s motto in life: that we are all midwives to each other’s dreams.

woman butterflyFire of the Goddess

Guest Speaker: Katalin Koda

The focus of this evening is Pele, the fire goddess of the Big Island of Hawaii known as the fire bearer, the one who carries the fires of creation and destruction.

Join us for our monthly Women’s Community Group led by Katalin Koda, author of Fire of the Goddess: Nine Paths to Ignite the Sacred Feminine and Sacred Path of Reiki: Healing as a Spiritual Discipline.

Katalin KodaKatalin has recently moved to Portland after spending the last fifteen years living, studying and practicing healing and ceremonial arts in India and Hawai’i. As a leader of women’s circles, retreats and workshops for the last seventeen years, she will be sharing her gifts which activate our inner sacred feminine including circling, storytelling, shamanic journeywork and co~creating ceremony.

In our circle, we will tune in and activate our own inner fires, clearing the old and making a blazing new path for our inner authentic selves to shine brightly. This circle serves as a seed for Katalin’s upcoming Fire of the Goddess Series which will focus on a particular Goddess archetype each month following the themes of Power, Love and Wisdom. This series is inspired by Katalin’s book, Fire of the Goddess: Nine Paths to Ignite the Sacred Feminine and will meet on the third Wednesdays of the month starting on September 17th at Healing Waters and Sacred Spaces.

woman butterflyDivine Embodiment and the Sacred Womb

Guest Speaker: Diane Rose

We are currently living in a society that believes in the mind vs. natural intuition of our bodies. Our womb space is a powerful initiation into reclaiming our own divine feminine and inner guide. It is space of creation and contains the information and understanding to our most important relationships and creative projects. In this group we will work together to attune to our wombs and our bodies through womb clearing, mandalas, and sound healing. The benefits of clearing and working with the womb is increased vitality, overall well being, improved relationship with self and others, understanding of our connection to the whole and so much more!
